Absolutely not! Our Beginner Salsa and Bachata Classes are specifically designed for absolute beginners and adults with no experience. The vast majority of our students come solo. We rotate partners regularly in class, which is the best way to learn and is a fun, social way to meet new people in the Sydney Latin dance community!
What will I actually learn in the 6 weeks, and will I be able to dance socially after?
The 6-Week Beginner Course focuses entirely on the foundational steps, timing, and simple turn patterns for both Salsa and Bachata. This structured program ensures you build confidence week-by-week. By the end, you will have a solid, repeatable foundation that will allow you to confidently participate and enjoy dancing socially at any beginner-friendly Latin event.
What should I wear and bring to my first beginner dance lesson?
We recommend wearing comfortable, casual clothing that allows for free movement (like gym gear or smart casual attire). For shoes, avoid thick rubber soles (like running sneakers) that can stick to the floor and make turning difficult. Flat shoes, soft-soled sneakers, or dance sneakers are best. Always remember to bring a water bottle and lots of enthusiasm!
